The UMH offers a specific program that internally coordinates resources and capabilities to provide shelter for victims of the war. This way, refugees receive comprehensive assistance, and they are provided with initial care (psychological, legal, accompaniment) in addition to language and cultural immersion, and this enables them access to and incorporation into higher education and\/or research groups with complete university immersion. This aspect consists in UMH student volunteers who accompany the mentored individual, helping him or her adapt to university life, to move around the campus, to manage academics, and become acquainted with Spanish culture and customs.<\/p>\n

The UMH offers Spanish courses to help displaced individuals learn the language, regardless of whether they are complete beginners or already speak some Spanish.<\/p>\n
